Hope you are all enjoying a wonderful and relaxing summer of 2007. Our new season is just around the corner and we are looking forward to another successful and exciting season ahead for all of our participants! This newsletter has MUCH IMPORTANT information so PLEASE read thoroughly through it’s entirely. Patti McTernan, NAHA President 07-08. NEW UNIFORM PICKUP We are confident that all of our players are going to be pleasantly surprised at the BEAUTIFUL new look of NORTH HOCKEY! Our new jerseys have arrived, complete with players’ names and numbers and ready to be proudly worn by only the best! UNIFORM PICKUP will be held at the FOXBORO SPORTS CENTER on Tuesday, August 21st from 6:00-8:00pm. As notified in the Spring, the cost of $35.00 will provide each player with: * Their new North jersey embroidered with the player’s name and number. (players may or may not receive their requested jersey number) * Beautiful new NORTH practice jersey to be worn to all NORTH practices * 1 pair of new NORTH socks (NJ Devils) * NORTH Helmet decal for new NAHA players (please bring helmet for application) Please bring payment of $35.00 with you to pickup. If you are unable to attend the pickup session, PLEASE plan to send someone else in your place, so that your child will be prepared for the upcoming season. A limited amount of additional socks and practice jerseys will be available to purchase. Socks will be sold for $10.00 and practice jerseys for $20.00. (please note adjusted new price) Also, please be reminded that NORTH HOCKEY is now requiring all of it’s participants to wear BLACK pants, effective this September, 2007. If you are purchasing a new helmet, please be reminded that effective September 2008, all North Hockey participants will be required to wear BLACK helmets. We do hope that you will join us in our enthusiasm to start off the new season with pride and confidence. FOXWOODS Please join us on our next trip to FOXWOODS on Saturday, September 1st. Nothing to do on Labor Day Weekend? Gather some friends or family members and plan a fun night out while helping to support our High School Hockey team as well! Tickets are $40.00 each and provide TRAVEL to and from the resort on a 1st class coach bus, a MEAL VOUCHER for a wonderful, satisfying buffet dinner at one of the resort’s fine restaurants and a FREE $10.00 KENO ticket. The bus leaves the Middle School parking lot at 5:00pm and arrives home at 1:00am. Bring appetizers and “refreshments” for the bus ride and you’re guaranteed to have a good time! COACH’S MEETING Please be reminded that there is an NAHA Coach’s meeting for all coaches on Tuesday, August 7th, 8:00pm at the Foxborough Sports Center. NAHA MEETING As you all may be aware, North Hockey is planning to establish it’s own identity and is requesting secession from the Tri County Saints Organization. Up until now, NAHA has provided hockey at a club level status. This new move, will allow us to enter leagues as our own Town team. A meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 7th, 7:15 - 8:00pm at the Foxborough Sports Center in the upstairs conference room. We ask that you please plan to attend if you have any questions or concerns regarding this move. Fall 2007 All rosters have been set and schedules will soon be available for our upcoming season. Coaches will be contacting their players at the end of the month. Please check our website for up to date information as it becomes available. For now, the practice information we have is the following: Mites/Squirts - Each team will practice 2 hours per week on a rotating basis at the following locations. The schedule will be distributed at the end of August. Thursdays, Foxboro Sports Center - 6:00-7:00pm Wednesdays, Foxboro Sports Center - 7:00-8:00pm Sundays, The POND in Norwood - 6:00-7:00pm Tuesdays, Slapshots in Franklin - 5:30-6:30pm Pee Wee/Stars/Devils (Middle School) Sundays, Foxboro Sports Center - 8:00-9:00pm Wednesdays, Norfolk Arena - 4:00-5:00pm Midgets (High School) Tuesdays, Foxboro Sports Center - 8:00-9:00pm Wednesdays, Norfolk Arena - 4:00-5:00pm All Goalies Sundays, Foxboro Sports Center - 8:00-9:00pm Clinic with Bandits Coach Mike Doneghey, every other week beginning September 9. Practices will start up the week of September 3rd. (no practice on Sunday, September 2) Game schedules will be available toward the end of the month. The Jr. High League will have some SUNDAY night games scheduled in addition to it’s Friday night schedule. This is due to the enlargement of the league to 32 teams! We will face a tougher challenge this year to retain our Championship status but we know it can be done! We are looking forward to it! The game season starts off on Friday, September 7th for the Jr. High League and the NVL League (Mites, Squirts, Pee Wees and Midgets) will begin on September 8th. Please note that this is tentative information and subject to CHANGE!!! NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY We would like to welcome and congratulate Steve Folan, to the position of the North Attleborough Varsity Hockey Coach. We are looking forward to a tremendous first season and hope that you will ALL be there to support the High School players each and every week as they proudly represent NORTH in the Hockomock League. The season will open against Attleboro on Wednesday, December 12th at the Taunton Ice Arena. We will keep you updated each and every week throughout the season with schedules, game times and standings! CHAMPIONSHIP JACKETS Please note that the deadline to order your Championship jacket is Monday, August 13th! They will NOT be available at a later date so order now! PAYMENTS ALL past due balances for prior seasons must be up to date for your child to participate in the upcoming Fall 07 season. PLEASE contact northhockey@comcast.net if you have any concerns. CANNING We will be asking all of our North Hockey participants to participate in our NORTH HOCKEY weekend where our players will be showing their faces and letting North Attleborough know that NORTH HOCKEY is here and proud to be! We will be canning at locations throughout town the weekend of September 8, 9, 15 and 16. Your team administrators will be coordinating times and locations to you at the start of the season. We are counting on your support. 2 BIG HOCKEY EQUIPMENT SALES!!! The following 2 stores are holding huge sales the weekend of August 9 - 12. They are definitely worth looking into if you are in need of any new equipment or skates for the upcoming season. Pure Hockey - 4th Annual Warehouse Sale - August 9,10,11,12 at the NEW Marlborough (Berlin) location. Breakaway Hockey - National Hockey Weekend Warehouse Sale - August 9-12th NAHA USED HOCKEY EQUIPMENT SALE NAHA will hold it’s own hockey equipment sale on Tuesday, August 21st from 6:00-8:00 at the Foxboro Sports Center during uniform pickup time. If ANY of our players have any equipment that they are no longer using and would like to donate it to NAHA, now is the time. Please drop off any equipment to any of the listed locations. YARD SALE We are looking for 1 or 2 parents who would be interested in organizing an NAHA yard sale. We have volunteers willing to help pick up goods but are in need of someone to oversee and plan. PLEASE contact 508-612-9098 if you can help. WENTWORTH HILLS GOLF PASSES NAHA still has passes for Wentworth Golf Course available. The cost is $20.00 for 9 holes w/ cart and $40.00 for 18 holes w/ cart. If you would like to purchase any, please contact NAHA at 508-612-9098 or email northhockey@comcast.net.
